Chapter Meeting Minutes for April 15, 2017

At today's meeting I asked everyone to think about and let me know what they would like me to bring up when I meet with the representative from the contractor who is doing the Governance and Sustainability study of the county airports. The possible subject areas are, governance, aviation division budget, airport maintenance, fuel prices, hangar space. The meeting is a few weeks away so we have time to gather some comments and observations that we would like to put forth.

There is a possibility of the chapter leasing a workspace in Arcata that we would then sublease to individuals who need a space to work on their aircraft projects. If you have an airplane build project but it is expanding out of your garage, you should consider this.

Caleb Lesher talked about his re-engined RV that he arrived in today. It has about 20 hours on it so far he is happy with it. He re-did the instruments also (as an afterthought). I looked in the cockpit at the instrument panel and it looked like a flat panel TV.

Al Castaldi mentioned again that the Collings Foundation airplanes will be visiting ACV on June 12,13, 14 and that the Vintage Aircraft Association, who are hosting the event, can use volunteers.

By leaving the pizza boxes open and gesturing towards them now and then, I was able to make the left-over pizza disappear.

Steve

P.S.  I realized as soon as I sent the meeting notes that I had forgotten one item: we are probably going to host a Rusty Pilots seminar in June. This is a program that is organized by AOPA. I will pass out more details later. In the meantime you can look at the AOPA website for information on the program.
